Journal Quote #3

I know that you feel that all in front of you is impossible. But, if you can find the energy to press your foot firmly into the Earth, that is all you will need. The power of one step. Please in all you do remember to care and nurture yourself. It is the only way you will be able to change the world, dream and imagine all of it, and know you are powerful and strong enough to step boldly into the Earth, and let the Earth figure the rest of it out. Remain strong, find your step, move forward each moment–even if it is small–and love and cherish all that is within you to make this journey. I’m thinking of you and when you need me to, I’ll use my step for you.

The quote…

I still find each day too short
for all the thoughts I want to think,
all the walks I want to take,
all the books I want to read,
all the friends I want to see.

Teri is on a roll, with all these great ideas! I loved this project. My only problem, was which favorite things to choose!
So… here, in no particular order, are my “mainest” things! ( I love that Teri!)

* Laughing out loud!
* Pepsi…(I’m an addict!)
* My “Neon” lighted Lips
* Pumpkin Seeds! I love them, I crave them!
* My ART supplies
* Old photographs.. their the best!
* Talking to my kids on the phone..if I’m lucky, I get to talk to all 3 in one day!
* Watching old movies..especially on a rainy day!
* My “Hot Lips” coffee cup, filled with Hot Cafe Mocha! Yumm!

a few of my favorite things…

2009-feb-161

When I started this drawing, all I had in mind was the teapot. (lower left corner of drawing)  I keep this on the counter in the kitchen.  I see it every day while I’m doing dishes.  I love it.  It’s one of my favoritie things.  So I got this brilliant idea and emaile ME, ‘Hey let’s do an ‘in-between drawing’ of some of our favorite things.

These are my ‘mainest’ things (as a guy from work would say and yes, he grew up in the holler) in no particular order:

  • technology
  • memories of my mother
  • my husbands hands
  • a good bottle of wine
  • my four legged friends (Cosmo and Louie)
  • humour
  • color
  • good friends
  • pieces of art (such as this teapot by Karen Newgard)
  • art supplies
  • books, books and more books. throw in some magazines too, please.

My bestest art buddy…

Ok, so I have the bestest art buddy!

I was sitting at my drawing table in the studio after work today…pretty stressed day, needed some studio time to de-stress…working on one of our side projects “A Few Of My Favorite Things”, when I noticed out the front window a UPS van whip into my driveway (thought he was a terrorist that was going to barrel through the house and take me out).  He stopped about an inch from the brick on the house, thank goodness.  ANYHOO, I’m running throught the files in my mind, thinking ‘ I haven’t ordered anything lately…OMG, there is something I’ve forgotten. How am I going to hide this purchase from my husband!

I meet Mr. Whip UPS man at the door.  He hands me a box.  I open it very carefully, still not remembering what I may have purchased in a drunken state blacked out state of mind.  I was also worried about any possible terrorist/anthrax packages as I didn’t know what this was.  I crossed my fingers hoping for no bomb explosion…this is what was inside:

cwwa-mug

M.E. sent me this.  Her wonderful, masterpieces of doodling that I love so much put on a mug…JUST FOR ME!

CREATE WITH WILD ABANDON..fuck that inner critic!  YAH!  I’m back to the studio.

Thanks M.E.

Journal quote #2

Here it is!

“I still find each day too short
for all the thoughts I want to think,
all the walks I want to take,
all the books I want to read,
and all the friends I want to see.”

~John Burroughs~

Ain’t it the truth!
…. as I sit here at 2:49 a.m… I just want to play… all night.. but I have to go to bed..even though I don’t want to.
.. this quote also came to mind, when you said how much you loved books and reading.
So.. I hope you like it! Can’t wait to see Journal page #2 masterpiece!

…… now go forth and create!

ME.

MaryEllen’s idea of project #1

What a perfectly wonderful quote. The more I read it, the more I love it.
The words are just uplifting and affirming.

I had the best time creating my first ever journal page. I’ve always wanted to create a journal, but never knew where to begin. I just had to remind myself to “create with wild abandon!”

Thank you Teri, for coming up with this most creative Idea! I am tickled to have you as my ART buddy too!

I’m excited!

I’m so excited to be a part of this project!   I’ve  never felt so inspired and creative!

I’m about to post my journal page for project #1 now!
